What does it feel like when your wrap comes undone just a couple weeks after surgery?

I am very worried.

I had the Nissen Fundoplication 3 weeks ago and am having pain at the wrap area. I accidentally lifted the vacuum cleaner for a few seconds today and realized what I was doing when it was too late.

I then got to thinking that I was also straining for a bowel movement about 1 week prior because of constipation.

Now I am worried that I have busted my wrap.

I see the surgeon next week but I was wondering if anyone had this happen and what the signs and symptoms were.

I still had difficulty swallowing at lunch today so I guess thats a good sign.

I am not wrapped............lol but I am sure one of the members who has had the surgery will be along and help you with your question.

I had some similar issues when I had my first Nissen. I would say it is probably fine. f you had some swallowing issues it is a good sign it is still intact. Are your reflux symptoms back? I had pain in the wrap area from just straightening up all the way for a while. Remember they have to cut loose a good bit of the stomach from the spleen to create the wrap. That takes quite some time to heal and at about the 2 to 3 week mark is when the most swelling occurs. That can cause pain in the area alone. It's good to have the doctor check it out, but I am thinking it is alright.

That makes me feel better. I don't have any reflux symptoms. I took some liquid Tylenol last night and that seems to have stopped it for now. I am thinking if it was reflux it would not be relieved by Tylenol. So frustrating... but thanks for your help. Have a nice weekend!!
