Nexium rebound

I started taking Nexium about 2 years ago. I decided to quit in August. With the help acupuncture and herbs, I have been able to stand the rebound. Recently, I decided to try low carb, and that has also helped a good deal. My reflux is ALWAYS the same. I eat, and about 1-2 hours later I begin to belch. Some of these belches are followed by a bit a heartburn, while some aren't. The reflux ALWAYS comes right after I belch (unless I try to hold a belch down and the pressure forces acid upwards). It's never a constant bout of heartburn, and it never happens at night. In fact, once I lay down at night, the belches stop (and so does the heartburn).

Does anyone know how long the acid rebound is supposed to last? I assume I belch frequently due to increase acid volume in the stomach, and a bad habit of swallowing air. It's been 3.5 months, and I have definitely come a long long way. However, I just wish I knew when my stomach will be normal again. I still belch after meals, but acid only follows maybe 4-5 of those belches.

I started taking nexium because I got heartburn several times a week. That being said, I was abusing my stomach by taking 3-4 advil every time I got a headache, drinking red wine before bed, and eating fresh jalapeños. I have changed my habits, and I am convinced/hopeful that my stomach will heal.

If I had a weak Les would that mean reflux would be seperate from the burps? What are your reflux episodes like?

Possibly 12/21/2009 for the exophyx?  No Christmas dinner for you but the benefits of the procedure will be long term ;-)  Hope everything works out for you.

I burp, belch, sometimes burn, sometimes hurt, and cough a lot!
I have acid induced asthma at times.... lots of phelm!
I've been on Nexium for 5 years now. I take it 2 times a day and a 300 Zantac.
Right now I'm off work recovering from boarderline pnuemonia.
I have to return tomorrow. I hope I'm not pushing myself.

I see my surgeon on the 23rd to see if I'm a good candidate for the EsophyX TIF. He wants my lungs healthy for the sedation. If things go well, I'll have the surgery Dec. 21st. Merry Christmas!
