Hi Y'all-
What a week this turned out to be! Not only did I have a stomach bug on Monday, but I managed to get it worse Thursday. This time I was running a 101.8 fever and couldn't keep it down for more than 2 hours at a time for 2 days. That also hit when I was on my way to Iowa City to see a new pain doctor about
the ribs. Since I was already there and had to travel about
1.5 hours they decided to leave it up to me if they went ahead and did the diagnostic injections and markers to freeze the nerves next week. I decided since I was already there and felt horrible, what's a ton more pain too?! What was I thinking? Anyway, I did go through with it and they did find the right areas, so next Thursday I go back so they can freeze the nerves. Hopefully it works and hopefully they knock me out.
Wasn't sure they were gonna let me leave since I wouldn't eat or drink anything. They also wasn't to impressed that I could barely walk either. I forgot how much fun a high fever can be.
. They did finally say we could leave and Michelle decided it was a good idea to see our PCP when we got home. They determined I have an ear and sinus infection along with some virus too.
That's been the highlight of my week and why I have been scarce around here. Oh yeah, almost forgot they found a couple areas on my spine they didn't like how they felt or looked and want me to get another MRI. Between all the xrays, cts, and MRIs I should be glowing by now. Oh, and then the little alien who likes to build dams in in my kidney ducts has returned too. Ok, there I am done whining now.
So, how has everyone else been? I see Kitt is going to be gone a while again and tat King seems to be getting better slowly. That is good news.
Barb- Way to go! Don;t let them force stuff that messes up your stomach lady! Sometimes I really wonder what they are thinking when they prescribe stuff they know will mess with us. Glad your PCP was using his head.
Joy- Sorry about
the gas. Unfortunately that is a huge side effect of the surgery. Unless you can burp all of it out it has to go somewhere. At least until we learn to swallow less air.
Michelle is starting to feel cruddy now too. She was feeling to well when she left for work at 4am. Guess she will be the next one fighting a fever. I told her I would go sleep on the couch until I stopped running a fever, but she said no.
Take care,
Bill
