Just wanted to let everyone know how things are going for me.


Reflux-one episode of burn (had chocolate too soon) nono

Some spasms- only three times, because I over-ate. nono



Lost almost 20 pounds scool



Energy level going through the roof. smilewinkgrin



Went three days without nexium, took it two days because I thought I was having reflux (it wasn't), and now going to aim for four days without. (crossed fingers) idea



I'm struggling with the eating smaller portions, but I'm getting better. I want to keep my stomach smaller.



I had a cup of spaggetti with meat sauce last night with no troubles. I can't wait for my first hamburger smilewinkgrin



I got the last bill from the hospital today $26,008.00 shocked .

With insurance deducted it was only $648.32 in the end though. yeah



I see my local GI in March to get his opinion on my healing. Hopefully I'll be totally off Nexuim by then.



I want to talk with my lung doctor and see about reducing my asthma meds soon.

That's awesome news and very encouraging. You have posted on my thread about Barretts and its good to hear your doing well after this procedure. I have an appointment with a new doctor on March 10th Im hopeful we can eradicate this barretts and than go after the surgery so I can have a normal life again.

Great progress and it is good to see your summary.  You do such a nice job of supporting others going through the testing and surgery that I wanted to take the time to say thank you from everyone.

I did love your post about your school lunch the other day.

LOL! (about the school lunch.) Of course it was not funny going through it. I was thinking this is too much, but I grew up in the "clean your plate era". I felt guilty not to eat it all.

I tried some beef stir fry tonight. I couldn't swallow the beef that well. The celery was too tough to chew. So I at bamboo, water chestnuts, onions, and rice.

I measured out one cup and ate only that and no more. It looked like a lot until I pulled out what I couldn't eat, about a 1/2 cup of meat.

thats fantastic news joy . made me laugh about asthma meds because im going to ask my asthma doc the same . my asthma is fantastic now yippee . going to see surgeon thursday . want to see if i can get cleared to go to gym like you got loads energy to burn and lost 14lb to

Congratulations, Joy! Sounds like your recovery is going great. If you've got a taste for beef, try making stew in the crock pot and cooking it for hours. It'll be really easy to chew and very tasty.
Good luck tapering and getting off your Nexium. I have such a reactive stomach (I have had a rough time since Christmas) that the acid kills it. I'm back on Protonix daily for my stomach. I'm trying to get it healed up, so I can get back to normal. Ouch.
