I have a question. I have noticed that certain procedures like the Esophyx and the new Linx system Doctors will no perform the procedure if you have a Hiatel Hernia larger than 3cm. Why is that? Can someone explain? I had one doctor tell me that my HH is about 4cm. But Im seeing a new doctor on wednesday and Im getting scoped, motility test and ph being done so Im sure I will find out how big my HH is that afternoon.
Im feeling discouraged again because I'm not a big fan of the nissen. There are too many negative stories with that procedure. But my new doctor(that performs the Esophyx) told me that if my HH is larger than 3cm he will not be able to do it. Earlier today I was reading about the new procedure being developed called LINX and they say the same thing. Procedure will not be performed if a HH is larger than 3cm.
Could someone explain? Thanks.
BY the way. Not taking PPI's for 5 days because I have my mammotry exam on Wed..... this is sheer hell. I am in so much pain. I feel like taking 5 nexiums. God! I can't wait till friday after I return the monitor(for the 48 hour ph probe) to the hospital so i can take my medication.
Thanks,
