hi All,
it all started about a month ago. I noticed that every food or drink consumption made me nauseated...even water. i didnt think anything about it. i was dieting so i thought my body was in freak out mode or i contributed to stress of finals.
So a week and 1/2 ago, i started having the worst upper abdominal pain ever..then i started vomitting with every meal/drink. So i went to the doctor. At first she thought it was either my gallbladder or pancreas. So we did an abdominal sonogram, which was negative. I was referred to a gastroenterologist. She initially wanted to put me on nexium and see how i do. I threw a minor fit in her office because by this point it was 5 days of hell. So she agreed to do the endoscopy. the endoscopy biopsy showed that i have barrett's esophagus. good i finally found out what was causing my episode. bad that my lifestyle choices have caused precancerous cells. kind of scary since i'm only 23.
i have been on nexium for 5 days, which i can already notice a difference.
every food is still bothering my stomach, but at least i am keeping down food.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME?
i am doing my research on what to eat, what to avoid...which is majorly depressing. i live in texas and LOVE mexican food, but i have to make major choices in my diet.
