GERD and pain medicines.

I would really call you doctor and ask them. That wat you know for sure. I just got home yesterday from a nasty pain med incident and eWill always make sure from now one. Remember that aleve and such is way different from Tylenol and you need a lot less. It is a long shot , but maybe taking the baby asperin for now might help and be easier on the stomach, just be sure to let your doctor know exactly what you have taken.

Is ibuprofen the same as aleve and advil because if it is even those bother my stomach. I have an extra sensitive stomach apparently because most people, I think, can take Tylenol and be ok.

Hi Tinlou I've just had my gallbladder out and before it happened I was prescribed two panadol and two tramedo for attacks plus a voltaren for bad attacks. Sorry I'm not sure what those things would be called in your country. The voltaren was my least favourite thing because it gave me nausea so I didn't use that very much however the other two worked well and didn't cause any problems with my fragile stomach.

Sorry to hear about your headache problems. I don't get frequent headaches, so I'm lucky that way, but I do have a very reactive stomach, and can't take pain medicine (or antibiotics) easily.

My family doctor, who is very familiar with mysensitive stomach, said to only take Tylenol, which is the most gentle on stomachs. The way I handle pain is to tough it out.

I use ice for physical aches and pains, but headaches are different. I lie down and wait for them to pass.

If Tylenol upsets your stomach, you might find a prescription alternative from your doctor. I just avoid taking anything. It's not a great solution, but it's the only one I can handle.

Wow..Pancreatitis is serious business. My mom had it a few times but hers was from drinking too much. I don't know about GB surgery yet because I still have to have a HIDA scan done since my doctor is quite certain(after an ultrasound)that it is my gallbladder. The only thing that concerns me is the number of people who still have issues such as nausea, my main symptom, after the surgery. So I don't even know if I would want to go through with it. I love water with lemon!! Did not know it was good for a headache though..thanks!!
