have a "small hiatal hernia, but that was 6 months ago, who knows what that means. i got a call from a nurse from one surgeons office and they want to do another probe. apparently they did not like the gi doing it on 2 a day ppi. so with that surgeon they want me to stop them cold turkey and do the probe next wed, stop ppis for 5 days. if the ppis are letting acid get through as it is why stop them just to get a higher demeester reading. this is what we deal with in ia at the univ. hospitals. and yes surgeons only doing one thing seems crazy. plus the one doc while he has done fundos started doing esophyx, or whatever you call it 3 months ago. and while it seems crazy i have been asked multiple times by docs in ia "what do you want to do" the answer is easy, what should i do..had pdoc let me choose my own anxiety meds, then when i mentioned another they said ok.. not sure about the rest of the country but ia is not the place they make it out to be, at least not with drs. its a coin toss and we are very overrated
