After my surgery, they gave me a device for lungs exercise called spirometer to help recover my breathing since they tighten the diaphragm to repair harnia and it resulted in some breathing discomfort for me. It was very difficult for me but surgeons forced me to do it. I would have to suck the air to push the balls upward that's how it worked. after about
6 months I still had some of breathing issues so I went to a pulmonogist to request him to perform detailed evaluation since I remained a smoker too. so the XRay and Pulmonary function test came back with good results. then I found that my breathing issues are mainly present when I feel extremely bloated due to tight nissen wrap. the only thing which helps me in this situation is antispasmodic medication like Mebeverine (generic name) and a liquid suspension containing simethicone, I use a suspension which contains ingredients (Aluminium Hydroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide, Simenthicone, Dicyclomine) and this gives me a great comfort.
