My doctor said I had Silent acid reflux as the only symptom I have is now 2 weeks of laryngitis and I wanted to know how long this will last, I have also had previous episodes over the past couple of month of choking on yukkys in my mouth waking me up but I never mention this 2 my doctor as I didn't connect it with any acid reflux disease, I suffer migraines too and just thought I was ill from them. anways, I am taking TECTA, I hoping my voice comes back, Thanks for listening.oh and one more thing I have no heartburn, no indigestion or cold symtoms, just the voice loss. thanks:)

My first sign was the hoarseness and clearing of my throat in the morning with a slight loss of my voice. After a while though the burn started to appear occasionally and I just thought I ate something bad or whatever. I too have migraines and often wonder how the two go together and if they do. I do know that at one time I took Protonix and got a aura/migraine right after so I wonder if the meds are doing it or contributing to it at all.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.  I would suggest you make an appointment to revisit your physician and discuss your sx with him that you did not share as well as ask him how long it should take before you would see some relief from you sx.

Tecta is NOT known to be marketed in the USA, therefore I cannot make any comments re this drug.

I had silent reflux, too. My GI suggested surgery to solve my problem because PPIs and H2 blockers were not helping anymore.

I coughed the gunk too for three years. It's from your lungs trying to protect themselves, because the acid is getting into them.
