Hi.
Fantastic info in this forum. I was diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia two years ago; by scope. Never had any serious symptoms. Over the past couple of months I have now developed chest pain (on the sternum) and some of the other symptoms (throat sore, lump in throat) of GERD. Heart was checked, ok. I have completely changed my diet, no smoking, drinking, coffee, tea, tomatoes, etc. I don't eat for 4 hours before going to bed (which I lifted 8inches).
For 4 weeks now I have been on 40mg of Nexiam. My chest pain has not improved. From all the info I can find on the web, the indication is that the heartburn chest pain should be intermittent, ie after meals or when the reflux occurs. However my pain / discomfort is always present, it only varies in levels of severity. Can anyone comment??
