Wow! A lot to catch up on...
Barb,
Glad you stopped with the shots and are feeling perkier. Nausea is one of the worst feelings. How are you getting around with your foot? You obviously can't use crutches or a walker, because of your shoulder. You've got a lot going on there, girl. Take it easy and don't push yourself too much. You've had all those repairs, and don't want to mess anything up.
My allergies are terrible. I just started taking my shots weekly (I was doing them every two weeks during peak season, but are technically supposed to get them every 3 weeks.). I discussed it with my allergist's nurse, and she said she was going to suggest it. I'll be flying thorough my serum, which costs an arm and a leg, but if it helps, it's worth it. We'll see. My ragweed allergy is 4+ (down from 6+ when I was tested in 99, but still considerable. The ragweed pollen is very high now. It has always been one of my worst allergies.
The thing that really bugs me is that I have to stay in most of the time during high pollen season, because if I go out my sinuses get really irritated, and that triggers my lungs. I let my allergist know I'm fed up. We'll see what happens!
Kitt,
Yes, the image of Barb's parade is a hoot! It would be nice if we could help out with her laundry, wouldn't it? Now that I'm retired, I love doing anything to lend a hand. It's so different from working full time and being overburdened with work and exhaustion. Now everything is a lark! I love cooking and baking, so company is fun. I can't do much cooking and baking for the two of us...I need to get back to Weight Watchers and try to get my eating into better control. I've been mighty naughty for the past year. With getting our house ready to sell (intense) and living in an apartment (interesting) and coming up to our townhouse on weekends (fun but exhausting) we did a lot of eating out. (Not good!)
We enjoyed hiking so much that when my allergies got so much worse and my lungs kicked up it was hard to move inside to the boring gym. After I'm off the computer, I'm off to the treadmill for some much needed exercise!
Hey, did you know the best use for duct tape? It gets rid of warts. Anyone have a plantar wart on their foot? Stick on a piece of duct tape...give it some time, and it'll be gone. Anywhere you find a wart...duct tape will take care of it! A miracle tape!
Joy,
Sorry to hear you're still having back trouble. Been there, so I know how hard it is. I have intermittent trouble with my herniated disk. That was a difficult thing to heal. I went the PT way, rather than surgery. After much research, I felt that it was the best route to take, and it really worked. I just have to remember to follow my PT's advice!
Hope all is well in school. Steroids make me a crazy *&^%$, so whenever I was on them, I had to be extra careful and aware of my attitude. This time of year is very stressful in school. My son teaches an inclusive 3rd grade class, and he told me that his class this year was going to be a handful. Hey, the big tipoff would be that they gave him two teaching assistants! You think?
Bill,
Hope things are going well with you and your family. Good luck with all those games!
Janice,
Hope things are going well...get out of that handbasket if it heads in the wrong direction!
Take care, ALL!
Have a great day!
Denise
