I know this post is older, but has anyone found any answers for Jais' situation? Jais, if yoiu're out there, how's it going now? I feel I'm in a very similar one and am looking for options.
Without going through the whole story, I think I've had hypoacidity which led to Barrett's Esophagus. Since that discovery I've been on PPI's for about a year and symptoms/severity have increased. Now I have that lump in the through feeling, fatigue, constant throat clearing, burping, gas, pain when I swallow fruit, etc ... most of which I never had prior to the PPI's. I've tried the ACV and I think it did make me feel a little better, but I also experience some burning behind the breastbone (I've never had heartburn, ever ... ENT says it's because I have LPR reflux). So in a nutshell, I think I may hypoacidity that led to Barrett's, PPI's lowering acidity even more and causing more damage to the LES, so now it's extremely weak. How do you treat yourself for hypoacidity when your LES is too damaged to close?? Any insight would be highly appreciated. I'm trying to get the Heidelberg pH capsule test done to confirm I have low acid levels in my stomach. I have another EGD and a Bravo pH test scheduled for next week. Unfortunately, my GI has never heard of most of this stuff and I feel certain he's going to want to increase PPI's. FYI, I have been on a strict non-allergen diet for 4 months, so I don't know what else I could be doing as far as food goes.
Edit: I started you a new thread of your own as the thread you tagged onto was 2 years old. Thanks, Kitt
