To give a little background - I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer last November at the age of 44. I have had surgery and radiation and currently get checked every three months for this. So far I am doing ok, but it has been an emotional rollercoaster ride for me the past year and I am sure one would consider me "stressed".
For the past few weeks, I have had a lumpy feeling when I swallow. It does not happen all the time and I have few other symptoms. I had a Barium Swallow which showed I have severe acid reflux, but everything else looked normal. The Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor prescribed Nexium and I am going to see my gastroenterologist in the next few weeks.
Since I am in ultraparanoid mode having PC, I am wondering if someone can tell me:
1) How good of a test is the Barium Swallow for identifing cancer?
2) Is this lumpy feeling a symptom of acid reflux?
Thanks for any information that you could share.
