Hello, I am wondering if any one else has chest pains all day everyday?! My family doctor has diagnosed me with GERD, acid reflux. I have been going through this pain and misery for 6 weeks now, had blood work done, everything looks good. Well there was bacteria found in my blood which my doctor didn't seem to worried about because he didn't talk about it to me and what it means. He has listened to my heart and doesn't seemtobe worried about it. My blood platlets were a little high, but again, my doctor wasn't worried. I have been in to see him 6 times in 6 weeks and I have got no where! I am on 40mg of Nexium 2 times a day, which doesn't seem to be doing anything but getting rid of my heart burn which is good, but I have pains in my chest all day everyday for the past 6 weeks. I had an H pylori test done on Monday and I am still waiting for my test results, how long does it take? Someone told me it takes 10days! Is that true? Does H pylori cause chest pains all the time?

I have an ultrasound on December 6/10 and I have an appointment wirh a GI doctor December 22/10. It just seems so far away! I am getting really tired of having chest pains every day and I can do nothing to get rid of it. I have been drinnking Gaviscon like a milkshake, it worked for the last 2 weeks, but I think I am now immune to it.

I have been trying to take ACV and I can't stand the smell let alone the taste. Any input as to how would be great. I have read that it does work and I will try anything right about now.

Please any input and thoughts would be great!

Sorry to hear about your pain. Unfortunately, I haven't had experiences similar to yours, but having read many posts on this forum, I believe others may have input that will help.
My only thought is that if you've gotten some burning at the valve site, you could get pain as a result. I've had "pain" awaken me from sleep due to burned esophagus.
Has anyone suggested Carafate Suspension? When I was in a bad way and having severe irritation, it was a lifesaver. It coats really well, and lasts for hours.
Just a thought.

Thank you Denise! I have never heard of Carafate Suspension, what is it? I will try just about anything though. Can I buy thie Carafate Suspension?

Bacteria has no business being in your blood! You should ask the doc about it.

Yyou could just be having burning in the esophagus where it connects to the stomach. Reflux can mimic heart pain.

Chest pain could sometimes mean a hernia. There are two types and lots of degrees. If it's just a regular hiatal hernia there usually is no point in doing anything about it unless it is large. One where the stomach is stuck in the chest, paraesophageal, is more serious. It can cause the valve at the top of the stomach to be stuck open. That's the type I had, and I needed surgery to bring it down.

Your GI doc will run some tests to check the cause.

Alcie is right. The pain/pressure could be your esophagus. Carafate Suspension is a prescription drug. It comes in pill or liquid, and the liquid would be the one to try. I'm not sure if there's a generic liquid option. I know the pill comes in generic.

Anyway, I was having severe burning and pain in my esophagus and LES area, and was using Maalox nonstop without any relief. I took Carafate, and finally felt comfort.

I'm not saying it will definitely do the same, but you might want to talk to your doctor about it.

I also agree with Alcie regarding the bacteria in blood comment. What's that about? You have a right to ask for clarification.
I don't know the turn around time for H-Pyloric. Maybe somebody else here does.

I had heartburn so bad I actually had a burning sensation going up from my stomach into my chest. The only way I controlled it was by drinking 2 T. spoons ACV and 1 teaspoon baking soda, let the bubbling stop and add some water. I did this twice a day for a couple weeks and then once a day for about a month. I went to several doctors, had all the tests done, tried all kinds of medicine and this worked the best and today I only get heartburn occasionally. Good luck, I hope you find relief soon:)
