All of a sudden I realize I am doing better, food-wise at least. I am still very careful, but I can eat somewhat larger portions of soft foods. Not having any raw fruits became unbearable so I tried seedless grapes and they went down fine! Also can eat a few raw almonds as I used to before. I had a few sips of wine on my birthday, but still avoiding alcohol as well as gassy vegetables like broccoli and cabbage. Angel-hair pasta is great, very easy to eat. I get a tight feeling in my esophagus from time to time but it's nothing like the horrible attacks I got before from eating too fast or things that weren't soft enough.
I had to start taking one Nexium before bed as the reflux at night was awful; when I see the doctor in January he will tell me what to do going forward. I think it takes quite a while to feel the benefits of the surgery. I might be having fewer episodes during the day.
It's nice that the laparascopy incisions have healed, and I went back to my workout after many weeks. Still taking it somewhat easy until I get my strength back.
To everyone in the wrap club I say Happy New Year and chew, chew, chew!
