i always had constant vocal fatigue, had trouble hitting notes and always thought it was just technique then it came one day when it started afecting my speaking voice, i often wondered what was wrong with my voice because it sounded strained singing and talking, i never imagined there was such thing as laryngopharyngeal reflux and it was happening to me without knowing it.

Dear Neptune; you will hear from many of us that our voices have been affected by reflux; whether it be LPR or GERD, the acid does indeed hurt the vocal chords.
I have vocal chord dysfunction, but I also have exercises to help that; this stuff also damaged my lungs, a small part permanently.
I had the Nissen in 08, unfortunately, I'm having complications and once again I find myself getting hoarse and pulmonary issues again.
I hope you are being treated by a good doctor.

That's what happens when acid is getting on the vocal cords. Nasty mess....

after the surgery did u get ph monitoring or intraluminal mutichannel impedance done to see if the reflux was still reaching the larynx?

The barium swallow can tell easily.

the barium swallow it's not sensitive enough for LPR, my barium swallow came back normal, but you have a hiatal hernia so your case it's very different, i don't have any gastric abnormalities according to that test
