Post Nissen troubles

Hello,

I had a nissen around 8 months ago now and the symptoms from before the surgery are returning worse than before!
I'm finding it quite distressing as i currently live on my own at university away from parents (i am only 18).
Before surgery the main symptom that bothered me was regurgitation of all foods, i also had other symptoms that i didnt realise were related until they began to get better after the surgery such as bad breath, dry mouth and constantly having to clear my throat etc.
The symptoms have no returned worse than ever with a sore throat and a constant cough to add to the list and the thing i'm finding most distressing is after eating it feels as if my throat closes up and i find it really difficult to breathe. 
I went to see a surgeon about it in my new area as the old surgeon was too far away for me to travel. After performing a barium swallow which showed reflux the surgeon then said that he was not willing to help and that they cannot do a 'redo' and if i wanted further help i should go back to my other surgeon; i have done this now but i suppose its a waiting game!
Can you give any advice about the throat closing after eating because i'm begging to get anxious every time i eat and starting to skip meals to avoid the feeling because its quite scary when your on your own.

I am sorry your going through some post nissan troubles. I just had my nissan fundoplication surgery on Jan 6. It has been a little hard to find things to eat since I am alergic to milk and I have to be on a two week liquid diet. You mentioned that your dry mouth went away after your nissan fundoplication surgery. I also have dry mouth for the last five months when all my acid reflux flaired up. Do you know when your dry mouth first started to get better after your nissan? So far it has been 9 days for me and my dry mouth is still there. I got all tested for autoimmune diseases for dry mouth and everything was negative. I am hoping that with this nissan fundoplication my dry mouth will go away.

Footymad  I'm sorry your having problems.    Maybe you need to shop for a new surgeon.     Maybe your doc meant he didnt do redo's.

I am still having problems too but just mild.   My surgery will be have been 3 months ago on the 20th.   I am getting mild burning on my tongue and in my nose.   Doesnt seem as bad.    I am thinking I should probably have a barium swallow done, but just kind of waiting to see what happens.

I had some chili today and didnt seem to have to bad of a reaction.

I am truly sorry you are having problems still.    I know I will be looking into surgery again if I still have problems.

FranB     last time I asked you.   You were still taking protonex I think that is how its spelled not sure.   The Generic form.   Anyway I had a dry white tongue while I was taking protonex the same one you are taking.   It cleared up in about 2 weeks or so after I quit taking my pills.   I also used biotene toothpast and mouthwash for dry mouth.   I dont know if that helped or not.      I also took pills for yeast as I had taken alot of antibiotics before my surgery.     You know the sore throat thing and seemed like I had a sinus issue going on but I think it was just the acid reflux problem.
