I am 5 weeks out after my fundo. I am very pleased. It was so much easier than I had been told and I was on liquids the first week and very nauseated but was able to add all foods back quicker than I thought.
My doctor had me immediately stop my Nexium, telling me I did not need it any more. I was excited about that. I do still have bouts of nausea that seem to come out of nowhere. Have an appointment to talk to surgeon about that. You all are saying you are going back to your surgeon and not back to your gastro doctor. Is that what we are supposed to do?
I did not have very much heartburn at all, although my endoscope showed very high levels of acid in my esophogus. My main complaint was the 24 hour a day coughing and clearing my throat. Ater the proceedure, I was bragging all that was gone and was thrilled. Then my family began to tell me one by one, that I was still doing it just not as bad. I think because it was so much better, I was not even aware of it. I do realize it now. I will be asking my doctor about this. My question for you is; how many of you, after the proceedure, still needed Nexium or something lilke that?
