First I wish to thank everyone on this forum. I have been experiencing problems with laryngitis for 2 months, hard to swallow, plenty of nasal drip or phelgm. Heartburn has stopped since I went on dexilant. Have lost 20 pounds in 2 months but have yet to be officially diagnosed with LPR or Gerds. My appt with ENT is on April 5th. I was really scared until I started on this forum and found so many others like me. You have educated me and at least when I go to the ENT I will know what he is talking about and will know what questions to ask. Since my 20's I had problems with heartburn, ulcer and a hiatal hernia but as I got older the problems went away. Last year, all stress related, did hearburn come back. The doctor put me on xanax. Never suggested taking tests or possibly I could have acid reflux but then I had no insurance. I find when I try to drink diet coke, my throat burns so flavored water is now in the refrigerator. Haven't had a piece of meat in 2 months, just won't go down. Most of my spitting up phelgm is in the middle of the night. Bought a wedge pillow yesterday. I don't cough too much but when I do its like I am choking, deep cough. The laryngitis is my biggest problem. Some days I just can't speak at all and right now pollen is high in Florida so it is killing me. I am afraid to take anything with the dexilant for allergies or even Musinex for the phelgm. Again, any suggestions you have I am open to. Again, many thanks for this forum.
