Nissen Fundoplication, what was the cost of your anesthesiologist?

Hi all

I had Nissen Fundoplication 8 days ago, and even when I know what was the cost of the hospital and surgeon, I still have no idea how much the anesthesiologist is going to charge. I was financially prepared for an emergency like this but I haven't receive any bill from the anesthesiologist, and I would like to have an idea, so how much did you pay for the anesthesiologist when you Nissen Fundoplication, please only the people in USA

Hey there,

The cost for your anesthesiologist varies on how long your surgery was, what post op follow up was involved and the price set by the individual group of anesthesiologist. Also if you have an epidural pump which only the anesthetist can regulate or change rates would be add to the cost.

I cannot provide you with a set price per se', sorry.

My surgery was about an hour and after insurance my co-pay was $300, I think.

the last "procedure" i had done, the surgery took one hour and the anesthesiologist fee was $440. i belong to an hmo that has comparatively modest fees for service.

note this was not for a nissen so probably not much help...sorry
