Endoscopy and a New Problem: Any Advise

So I had to go in yesterday and get my annual endoscopy to make sure everything is OK with my Gerd and (small case of) Barretts. I understand that after the procedure there is minor sore throat pain and it goes away. But I am experiencing something awful right now. I woke up this morning what seems to be heavy phlem which is placing pressure on my gag-reflex. I have never had this problem before. If I angle my neck a certain way I can feel something putting pressure on my gag-reflex.
Im trying to cough it up but it won;t come out. It almost feels like if I could reach in with my fingers I could pull out what is there. Has anyone experienced this? If so how did you fix it? I literally feel like there is something in back of my throat. I tried hacking it up but I tried so hard I almost made myself vomit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Other than sucking an ice cube or sipping icey water, I can't think of much that would help. Anti-inflammatories perhaps would help but are bad for all us "gerd" folk! I would see a doctor, if it doesn't go very soon. Maybe if you're GERD etc is under excellent control you could cope with taking a Brufen type drug for one or two days - but definitely check with your doctor first! I think it can be caused by reflux, but equally it could have been caused by the procedure - especially if it's a new symptom. If it's not going, see your doc to make sure there's no infection.

Sounds horrible though - poor you!
