Reflux and shortness of breath

Hi I am new here but I had the Nissen fundoplication 12 days ago and was wondering how long it will take to get rid of the shortness of breath.  I have had reflux for about 12 years and have been on prevacid last Nov I ended up with severe chest pain which they diagnosed as esophagitis.  Never had that before and about the same time I was getting a feeling like I wasn't getting enough air.  Well after endoscopy they found my esophagus was irritated, so I did the manometry and ph probe which showed moderateto severe reflux and I went for surgery 2 weeks ago.  The surgeon told me it was a good thing I did this becasue after he opened me up he said he saw that the bottom of my esophagus was very swollen and enflamed.  So how long until I can start breathing easier?  Thanks in advance for your help.
