It was confirmed as of today, i have to have another surgery done on me to correct what was done on 9/01/10 to repair a huge hitial hernia and a 270 degree toupet wrap as it was done wrong and it is causing major problems for me. Food rejection and vomiting are of a major concern because of this. The LES is badly damaged from the surgery causing a blockage of some foods from being able to enter into the stomach. Reconstructive surgery is needed to repair this issue. The only bad thing about this surgery coming up, is that the wrap shall have to be undone all the way of which shall allow stomach acid to come back up into the throat. The surgery shall take place at Duke Research Hospital in NC. Arrangements have to be made by my doctor before before i can even go over there. My nerves are at the highest point in my life as not knowing what to expect and the outcome afterward. All i can do for now, is to hope for the best. From all of those that have supported me all of this time in this forum, i want to say thank you as it has been appreciated. Your a great group of people. I shall keep in touch. Thanks bob

I'm so glad you have found someone to listen. I hope you find an answer in this surgery.

Hi Bob,
I am glad that you have found a doctor/surgeon who have discovered your problem and have a course of action. Are they going to take down the wrap completely without redoing it? Is that because your LES would not work with the addition of a new wrap?

I'm glad you're going to Duke to have this done. Those medical centers have a lot more experience with challenging problems than your average surgeon.

When you find out the date of your surgery, let us know.
You know we are always here to offer support and whatever information we have.
I wish you the very best. Try to take a deep breath, and think positively. I know you've been burned badly by the last surgery you had, but you are now going to be in very good hands with docs who are used to difficult cases.

Hello Denise: Always nice to hear from you. As of this date, everything is in a planing stage to go to Duke. as my doctor here has to make all of the necessary arrangements before going over there. She has to check on the two doctors that can do this reconstructive surgery and from what i have been told by her, the wrap has to be undone as it is causing all of my problems at the LES area. Insurance has to be checked also to help pay the necessary medical bills. A place to stay for the person who shall go along with me. Medical records have to be sent over there also and an appointment set up to speak to the doctor who shall do the surgery. YES, i am on pins and needles over this as i really do not know as to what to expect from this. If the wrap has to be done all the way, this shall allow stomach acid to flow once again into my throat of which the first operation was to prevent. I still need a very strong attorney in malpractice law to handle my case. Know of any?????
