Hi KatherineG,My most favorite food when I've had gastritis and bad reflux was egg custard. It was the only thing I could tolerate. There are lots of recipes on the internet.
Here's a recipe I've used:

Egg CustardRECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
2 cups milk, scalded
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tsp. vanilla extract
Ground nutmeg
RECIPE METHOD
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Butter a 1-quart baking dish and place it in a roasting pan which has enough hot water to come halfway up the side of the baking dish. Place in the oven to heat.
Combine the eggs, and sugar, and whisk until thick and pale.
Heat the milk to boiling point and slowly add to the egg mixture, stirring constantly. Stir in the vanilla. Strain through a sieve into the baking dish and sprinkle with nutmeg. Place in the roasting pan and bake for 45 minutes, until set.
The custard is set when a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Soothing, creamy, non acidic, foods are best...stay away from rough textured foods, as they irritate the esophagus and stomach lining.
Good luck!
I hope you feel better soon.
