Hi all,

I had a major gallbladder attack about 4 weeks ago caused by incorrect medication given to me by a new GP....when I was in hospital the specialist said your GB will be coming out soon....

Had a little read about the removal, and all ive read is about what bad D the removal gives people.....surely not everyone is like this after the procedure..god knows how many million worldwide have this each year ???

Anyone care to add to this ??.

Matt,

Had my gallbladder out years ago,  and took care of many people who have had their gallbladder removed.  My father had his gallbladder removed...............no diarrhea complaints from anyone I knew but that does not mean it never happens.

Try not to anticipate the worse case scenario.  Be well.

My doc said 5 to 10% have diarrhea after the gall bladder is removed. There is a med that helps most people. I had my gall bladder out 1.5 years ago and I asked.

Hi Matt,

A friend of mine had gallbladder surgery, and in the early weeks whenever she had a salad she'd have to run to the bathroom. This improved over time, and she never mentions any GI issues now. From my experience with others I've known to have the surgery, the diarrhea issues seem to subside over time.
