Hi Aeshleyrose,I was told by my surgeon that I wouldn't be able to burp or vomit as I had a full wrap. That said, I've done both. The burping started in the hospital--small burps that let themselves out.
The vomiting happened when I had bug, and without a bit of notice, I vomited. I didn't know until then if I'd be able to. I was told that it would work it's way out the back door if necessary. Also, I was warned that if I were to get food poisoning I should go to the ER to have my stomach pumped.
I was told (by my fine friends at this forum) to be sure to get anti-nausea script
s right away when I had my surgery, and to bring them with me always. That I do. The only reason I threw up was that I had no warning at all. Once I did, I took anti-nausea meds to stop further episodes.
Hi Halloweenbaby,I'm glad to hear you're getting wrapped. There's no need to go on living with the kind of pain and discomfort you're experiencing.
Be sure to ask any questions you might have regarding the surgery and recovery. We'll be here to offer support and share our own experiences.
Good luck!
