Something new has been going on. My specialist wanted me to stop all meds until he can do a scope on Aug 22nd. A few days after I stopped taking them, I've been burping up foam? I have this horrid taste in the back of my mouth that will not go away. I still have the nausea. If I eat, the nasty taste and foam go away for a very short while but then it comes back worse than before and will last all day. I called to see if I could take anything and he said no. I've been on meds for 3 years and never had this. Could this be acid????

Someone posted here the other day they were burping foam. I guess it's possible.

Michelle,

I do not know for sure if that is acid.  What did your Dr. think when you talked to him ?  This sounds like a miserable situation for you.

I hope you get some relieve.

I talked to his nurse yesterday. I asked her if I could take something, told her what was going on and she said I can't take anything. Dr wants to see what my esophagus and stomach look like without meds.

I think my surgeon did a mistake with my first surgery. I had to have all my records sent to the new specialist. My surgeon won't send the reports from my bravo or my first nissen...which is why the nurse called yesterday. She said I have to go there and get a copy to bring with me. Just doesn't make sense because my surgeon sent all the other tests and results, and the reports from my other 2 nissens but won't send the first.

This happened to me just the other day. Had you taken Tums or had any Gaviscon before bed?

No. I haven't taken anything since yesterday. I snuck in a zantac in the morning.

Well this happened to me also, but I had drunk some Gaviscon before bed and another poster had said that the same thing happens to her after taking said antacids.

However, it also makes sense to me (ESP if you were laying flat) that when you refluxed your upper respiratory system produced mucous to keep you safe and in the normal course of breathing, it became frothy.

Were you very nauseated when you woke up?

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but hope they figure it out soon. I'll be joining you with my 3rd Nissen shorty. I hate having to go off PPis for some of the tests. Never seems to easy for many.
