Moi Ashley
You
opened a new thread for that. Alright, let's talk about
it.
There are some points that we already discussed with Alleycat...about
hernias and how it all went with me. Sorry, I wrote it quite quickly, but if there is some interesting things you want to know...just ask!
Symptoms - All started with surprise with a a low Hb 85. I had occasionally heartburn symptoms, but I never thought they were so serious. Always I found a good reason, why I had heartburn.
PPI's - I got Nexium after my first G-scopy. There was La C Esophagitis, which needed an extra G-scopy after one month. After that I got cheaper PPI's Gasterix ( active substance Lansoprazol 30 mg). I think both of them worked quite well...but there was seldom those heartburn symptoms.
From the dg to the surgery - The dg I got Spring-10 and then twice discussion with surgeon -> to a surgery-queue for 6 months -> the surgery was on March 10th 2011.
Tests - 2 x G-scopy
Hospital - I stayed in the (Meilahti) Hospital x 2 days after the surgery
Recovery - I had very peaceful and easy recovery time! The 1st week after the surgery was that real "recovery time". Then the 2nd post op week was more like "mental-recovery". I mean... to understand what has happened, how to eat & how often and so on...Then I lived very easy life for 3 months. (The liquid diet period was 3-4 weeks)
Hernia - Yes, after the G-scopy there was found hh, then during the surgery the dg changed to PEH, (10 cm in the thorax area).
€ - Clinicfee 27,40 € x 3 visits (2 x surgeon visits + pre op visit) & daily hospital charge 32,50 € x 3(op day + 2 extra days)
Surgeon - As I said before that was the first day in this hospital when they used "Leonardo/the robot" to gastrosurgeries. My surgeon was mr Jukka Sire'n (and the proctor was mr Marcus Andstedt, Sweden).
Ashley...in your case, the most important thing right now is to find the right dg for you. That's why you are going to G-scopy. Try to relax, the exam will take only 5 min and then it is over. You are a lady with a strong temperament. This will be easy for you
If you have any other questions, just ask...
