This is really disgusting and i hate to be so descriptive, but i have no answers.
I was diagnosed with ARDS 4yrs ago.
I was put on Protonix but was quickly taken off after a reaction to it.
Then i was put on 40mg of Nexium.
Which worked for about 3 1/2 yrs.I could eat anything without any trouble or regrets.
then within the past 3 months a drastic change.
I experienced severe ARDS to the point it required a prescription of a GI cocktail(lidocane, mayloxx and some other ingredient)This helped greatly but this was a prn med,and not to be taken often.
now I experienced about 50% of the time painful pressure in my chest.
I would go to the er thinking i was having a heart attack and all tests led to nothing but a diagnosis of heartburn.
The other 50% of the time i felt like food was stuck in the back of my throat it didn't matter what it was i could feel it.
If i ate a salad it felt like the lettuce was glued to the back of my throat.(just an example)I haven't eaten a salad in 6 months
Just to have relief when this happens.I usually run to the bathroom and throw up(not induced) to i feel comfort,or i may burp, and its not a burp its food coming up.
I am in tears and so frustrated.
My pcp and i thought maybe Nexium wasn't working. So we are trying dexilant in 2 days, tomorrow a.m. a barium swallow.@ months to go to get in with a GI.
With these symptoms.can this be treated with a PPI,or other meds or does this indicate Barrets esophagus or esophageal stricture?
