I have had upper right quadrant pain for over 1 year now, which started while taking a PPI. I've gone through any and all tests and they all came back normal, so they think it is either musculo-skeletal (which might make sense since nowadays I am getting some muscle cramps in the same spot), gas, or chronic functional abdominal pain (CFAP). I'm fairly sure its one of those three, and very confident that it is nothing serious. If you do tests and they come back normal you have to be positive...
So long story short, yes, could be gas. My RUQ pain is considered potentially gas, and if yours moves around a lot more through the abdomen I'd have to think the odds would be even better that that is the problem.
