My name is Leslie and I am 46 years old. I am the Mother of a 16 year old daughter and have been married for 22 years.

Recently, I started developing pain in my upper back, base of neck, and left arm.  I thought it was because we need a new mattress but I dont think so,

In 1993, I had major surgery and had a Pyloroplasty and Vagotomy for a Ulcer.  Now I am worried my Ulcer might be back.

A friend of mine mentioned GERD and I decided to join this forum. It hurts so much, I can barely move and am just miserable.

have you seen your doctor recently regarding your pain?

how long have you been having this pain?

from the two procedures you have mentioned, were you having problems with gastric emptying?

i have experienced a lot of back pain from gerd and around here members have mentioned often that they get back pain, some from gerd and some feel it might be from medication.

if you are comfortable sharing some more information that might help others provide some feedback.

im sorry you are in so much pain..its awful...and scary when we hurt and are not sure why.

hopefully some members who have experience with these procedures will join in the discussion

I had a Ulcer that healed but the scar tissue caused a complete blockage and I couldnt eat or drink. I almost died.

The pain has been off and on for a couple of months now. I am taking several meds for other reasons though, Paxil (Tapering it off and will be on Effexor soon), Synthroid, Hydrochlorithiazide, Antihistamines. and such

Dr suggested it could be Menopause

First of all here you find support not a Doctors,you have first to doc for diagnosis after that anybody here will share with you his experience

@rockybudgeboa - Can you describe all of your symptoms and provide more detail? Do you feel full all the time? Do you have any IBS /Crohn's / frequent diarrhea? Does your neck / back pain seem to get worse when you other symptoms get worse? What supplements are you taking?

It feels like Joint pain, shoulder blade, around my neck and sometimes my neck hurts so much I have to lie down
