Stopping PPI after surgery

I had been taking PPI for 6 months before this nissin surgery. Dr. told me I would not need it after surgery. Now, I remember another Dr. telling me there is a rebound effect when stopping taking it. I have not had any reflux after this surgery, but I worry that after the swelling goes down, I will have it again. Anyone know??

I had reflux on my day 4 and when I spoke to my doctor he told me to get back on PPI's for at least 14 days.
As Denise has recommended to others I agree that you might as well take them for the first 1 - 2 months and the gradually lower the doze.

On the other hand if you can feel it is all good maybe you should leave the pills in the drawer
