Chronic Belching!!! Please Help

Is yougurt also diary product i eat ot most of the time with wheat flour we called it chapati.

I strongly believe that taking low dose of aspirin daily for a long period of time is the cause of chronic burping or belching. The damage done by aspirin to your upper digestive system is not reversible naturally even you stop using it. FDA recently has warned consumers not to use aspirin for the primary prevention of heart attacks and strokes. Stop taking aspirin must be the first step you have to do to treat your chronic burping...

I used to burp and belch loudly and constantly from 9pm-3am for years.
I got relief when I was treated for leaky gut and low stomach acid. Drinking diluted apple cider vinegar or taking HCL tablets really brought relief. Healing my gut with probiotics and bone broth were the next step. Doing gallbladder cleanses with olive oil and lemon juice helped as well.

I attribute this to the antibiotics cipro and Levoquin. I also had shoulder, back, and hip tendon pain, memory loss, ringing in my ears, burning pain in my arms and hands, insomnia and food sensitivities.

Not to necro a dead thread for nothing, but I get this belching problem too. The only thing that seems to help is a tsp of baking soda disolved in a 1/4 cup of water ; chug - whatever the "bad" is it seems to bind to it and pass through harmlessly, and the symptoms resolve shortly after.

I think my reaction is provoked by sulfites - even natural ones seem to set it off. I hope this helps! *hugs and feel betters to all*

I had a problem with belching or burping all day long went to gastric doctor he told me to stop chewing gum and eating mints so I did in the process I slowly stop taking my nexinum the burping has really slowed down maybe 4 burps a day but nothing like I use to I can't believe it I also couldn't sleep on my left side had problems breathing and felt uncomfortable as if gas was builted up around my heart now I can sleep on my left side I feel so much better with in a months time who would have know that gum and mints and nexinum was cause my problems he said a ingredient in the gum was causing a allergic reaction and causing me to burp also I think the medicine like nexinum causes burping I hope this helps

I contribute my acid reflux to years of prednisone, methetrexate, Daliresp and tons and tons of antibiotics. Nights are the worse. I get about four hours sleep. Been to 6 goofy doctors and an ER doctor who told me he did not have time to listen to my history, that he had 18 patients to see. No one has an answer or even acts like they care. I feel like Elaine on that Seinfeld episode where she kept going to drs and they kept brushing her off. There have been many nights I felt like I was literally dying.......suffocating to death. My asthma meds don't even work anymore. The only relief I get is from alkaline water from the health food store..........over 8 ph helps neutralize the acids..........kind of like taking baking soda. Recently started having some other issues and wondered if it was all related........... intense itching...........my eyes, eyebrows and bridge of nose. Finally went to eye dr this week..........make that 7 doctors............and he said I had dry eye............which now makes me wonder if I have Sjogren's syndrome. It can cause lung, gastro, eye, skin, sinus, and vaginal involvement.....of couse I will have to go to Dr. number 8 for testing. I have endoscopy on Jan 5th for ph testing with capsule for testing gastric acid levels. Getting older is the gift that keeps on giving.

I've got a little insight into what MAY BE going on here, but I need some feedback from anyone still suffering from this issue, especially if you're in Austin, TX where I can work with you (free) one on one. I'm looking at it from a different angle than most, so this may seem weird. I've noticed that so many people here have been tested for a ton of things but came back "normal." Combine that with the relief I've had from doing specific exercise, and I've got a hypothesis going...

Basically, I suffer from a hip on the left that likes to pop out of it's socket (you'd probably not feel it pop out if you have the same thing, but standing on that leg won't feel like standing on the right leg). What I've noticed is that when I can get that left hip in it's socket (with specific exercises designed for that purpose), then do a couple of other very specific exercises to help untwist the spine a little, I can usually burp out all the gas trapped inside and stop feeling bloated. I sleep better afterwards and don't have to burp when I wake up. My issue is that I've stretched out a lot of ligaments over the years and I can't always get my hip to reposition, so I can't be sure if this is what's causing/relieving the problem. I know it sounds ridiculous, but when certain muscles aren't working properly, we lose our ability to regulate internal gas pressure properly and a lot of weird things happen.

- Do you have left hip pain or frequent low back pain on either side of the back? This if often accompanied by shoulder pain in one or both shoulders.

- Does breathing feel restricted? Sometimes it'll differ when you're seated, on your back, or standing. I've noticed some people get a little relief by lying on their side. When lying on your back, and inhaling, do your ribs expand/open and then upon exhale, do they close down or does it feel like your ribs don't move much?

- If you look in the mirror while shirtless, can you see one or both sides of your rib cage popping (flaring) out in the front under your chest? ("Rib boobs")

- Feeling like you don't completely void your bowels when using the restroom? Groin/genital pain or pain during sex?

- Do you feel better when moving vs being still? Does walking help make you burp more of the bloat away?

If anyone is around the central Texas area and can meet up, I'd love to walk you through some exercises you can do at home and see if it helps relieve this problem. I'm not expecting the first set of exercises to fix you, so we'd need to meet up several times, usually two weeks apart to give you time to do the exercises daily for a bit before I give you new ones (the second/third sets of exercises rely on the first, but the 2nd/3rd sets are what I think help the most). This pattern (forwardly rotated pelvis either on the left or both sides, flared ribs on the left or both sides, often a tight right side of the neck, etc.) is extremely common, but not everyone has the same side effects, so I'm not certain this is the fix.

Unfortunately I can't test this with anyone I can't work with one on one because I rely on a handful of muscle tests to tell me which exercises are needed. But if you've got the symptoms I listed above, even just one or two, I may be able to direct you to someone in your area that can do what I'm talking about. Let me know if you're interested. It sounds like you should make an appointment with your gastro doctor. If you don't have one, I'm sure your PCP can recommend one for you.

Has anyone discussed chiropractic yet? I was damaged by a chiro who didn't do a full workup before wrenching my neck at the base of the skull, when I arrived with existing nerve inlammation, so it scraped my nerve.

What occurred besides the insane amount of pain, was I belched and couldn't digest my food for about 2 or 3 weeks.

I experienced everything you are all describing and it only returned to normal after the nerve healed and I also began taking digestive enzymes over the counter. The label says plant enzymes.

I hope this info can help someone. Have a chiro take an X-ray to see if there is pinching of your nerve controlling the stomach acid. Describe your symptoms to them and they should know where to look.

One person here did report symptoms starting after compression of the spine due to injury. So, traction on the neck and skull can possibly help too. This can be done by a friend using a towel and there's probably a YouTube video on how to do head traction at home. .
