What made you decide on surgery for gerd or lpr?

Sorry for all the questions guys.

But what made you decide surgery was the way to handle your gerd or lpr problems?

Did your GI recommend it?

Did you request to see a surgeon?

Did meds not help you anymore?


For me, meds were not helping my symptoms, my GI was hesitant to recommend it, but when the surgeon saw my test results and my heard symptoms he said he could help me and that was enough for me.

I think you know my story.  No, my GI doc stood in the way and only sent me to a surgeon when he decided my PCP and asthma docs might actually have information he should consider.  This was a long, long process.

i had bad lpr. after fundo i felt great...2 months out. what i learned though is my bad eating habits came back(the dr. said eat anything anytime). the surgery can help but just know that does not give you a free path of eating like you once did preop..had i stayed very strict i believe i would have had a 50 percent improvement and i feel it would have stayed. i blew it by not watching my diet. sabotage. dencha is someone who has it correct for lpr dont expect 100 percent it may not be possible, but you can get better. i know for me it was 8/31/2010. by halloween i was great and eating reeses. then the winter after the surgery i could drink wine, eat chocolate etc. after eating later and later at night the symptoms are now back. just be careful
