Hot breath in back of throat - anyone else have this?

I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing symptoms of really hot feeling breath that feels like it burns your naries / back of throat / tonsils area? I've been on PPI's for almost three months now and they are finally starting to help my heartburn symptoms, however it now seems to be replaced by this new symptom of feeling like my breath is really hot. This is especially noticeable when I go to bed at night and often leads to me coughing, etc. Is this LPR? I sure hope not - GERD is enough for me!

Hi Speedygerd,

Did you symptoms just come in the last several months?

Your story kind of reminds me of mine.

I initially had a chest tightness like a hard time taking a deep breath.

Went of PPIs, it helped but my throat got sore, then I got a burning chest, then throat, then mouth.

I believe that is a form of LPR which is GERD.

Continue your treatment as instructed by your GI. But don't worry, you are not alone in this. I just had a Lap Nissen today. Overall I'm happy with the surgery and will embrace the recovery.

I'm having this, and it also started for me after trying prilosec for my suddenly frequent heartburn. Now I'm on protonix, and the doc told me to go to twice a day to see if that helps.
