New to GERD/LPR and very confused

I have been having throat irritation problems since a bad bout of bronchitis 9 months ago. My main symptoms are a very dry throat (and mouth), mild irritation that comes and goes, the feeling that something is stuck in the throat just behind the tongue: like tissue paper, and when I eat, it sometimes feels like food is getting trapped high up in my throat. My voice often cracks, and it sounds like I have a cold.

I almost never get heartburn, and I suffer from bad allergy and sinus problems. I breathe through my mouth at night simply out of habit, after years of nasal problems.

So I went to the ENT, and he performed a transnasal esophagoscopy, but he didn't find ANY irritation in my throat or on my vocal cords.

He still suspected acid reflux (LPR) and gave me 40mg of Prilosec to take each day. He also gave me a nasal steroid.

That was over two weeks ago, and I have seen NO improvement. I have quit coffee, alcohol, tea, spicy food, etc. I even got a wedge pillow (although this doesn't seem to work very well, as I slide down it at night)

I am pretty stressed out over this, and don't really know what the issue is. Has anyone here had a transnasal esophagoscopy come out clean and yet still have acid reflux? Could this be sinus/allergy related and not reflux at all?

I can demand more tests, but I am still wondering why the transnasal esophagoscopy didn't show any inflammation, etc.
