Your post asked how it felt 2 weeks post op. well I am 62 years old and I went back to work at day 18.. at day 14 I was still feeling pretty much like a truck ran over me... I was on a full liquid diet and I didn't start soft foods until the beginning of week 3. by the time I went back to work, I felt OK but not great.. I wish I had waited another week but, I made it. The diet was definitely the biggest challenge. I altered the foods I eat completely.. more fruit and veggies than ever before. I find it is very good for me.
You will find that every day you will feel a bit better than the previous day. Just relax into your recovery and listen to what your body tells you. If it says you can't have a certain food.. wait for a couple weeks and try it again. Don't push it... I am now at almost 11 months post op and I feel good.. I have a few other health issues right now but the GERD issues are all but gone.. the only thing I have a problem with is some types of bread are still hard for me to eat and steak and most beef that is not ground just doesn't sit on my stomach well.. but everything else is great...
