Is this LPR?

I'm feeling very scared and anxious. It seems I clear up one health issue and another arises...anyway, I'll TRY to keep it brief but your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I've have been under treatment for Lyme disease and on all kinds of ABX for over a year now. My doctor put me on Flagyl at the beginning of January. I felt horrible on it...it really messed with my digestion, gave me a little heartburn, constipation, etc. At the same time I started this, I came down with a really bad cold. Fast forward a few weeks, I went off the Flagyl because my stomach just coudn't take it anymore and then I started feeling like I had to clear my throat constantly.

I've noticed that some days are better than others. I've seen two doctors. My first doc told me to take Prilosec which I did. Didn't really notice that much of a difference. After about 7 days, I saw my GI doc who told me that he thinks it's post nasal drip because it looks as though my nasal passages are 40-50% blocked on both sides. So, he gave me a nasal spray which I do in the morning when I get up.

I noticed that yesterday after I ate eggs that my symptoms including nasal drainage in my throat kicked up big time. So, today I had oatmeal. Although I haven't felt a lot of drainage, I have felt like I need to keep clearing my throat.

Reflux scares the * E L L out of me. I'm so scared that I will have this the rest of my life! I've been having a lot of health scares in the last two years and now everything scares me!

I took Prevacid for two days and it made me so bloated and constipated...I was miserable!

I am not coughing, I don't feel any heartburn, I don't have the lump in my throat (knocking on wood). My nose does run a lot.

Does this sound like it could be LPR to you or do you think this could be a sinus issue? On an unrelated health matter, I had an MRI of my brain and it indicated that I had chronic blockage of the sphenoid sinues. I saw an ENT (he did not scope my throat) and he wants me to get a CT scan. I've been putting it off though because I'm afraid of the radiation and don't want to cause more issues....

Does this sound like LPR? Do you think that the Flagyl and one year of ABX wiped out my good gut bacteria and maybe this is a yeast issue that is making me clear my throat. Ughhh....I'm so tired of all this.

I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well right now. You asked if what you have sounds like LPR and that is hard to answer because there are so many different symptoms of LPR and this kind of reflux affects everyone differently. However, I can tell you that PND and throat clearing are both symptoms of LPR, but they can be symptoms of other conditions as well. I think it would be best to go back to your ENT and ask him to scope your throat.
