I have LPR, GERD and aspiration in lungs. Afraid of the surgery and trying to stay away from it i have addapted a lifestyle change. I eat every 4 hours, 4 times a day.
My diet consists of : oatmeal, pears, bananas, steamed veggies, fat free yogurt, baked or grilled fish and chicken, water, carrott juice, baked potatoe once in awhile, melon, sugar free pudding. Anything alkaline.
Gave up sodas, alcohol, citrus, tomatoes, white flour products, fried foods, fatty foods, chocolate, sweets, sugar. I treat myself with frozen yogurt sometimes.
I lost 20 lbs in 2 months. Now weighing 115. I feel better than I have in years. I was poisoning my body with junk food, which I crave.
I was so sick ended up in hospital on IV antibiotic for 4 days, Spent about 3 months in bed from fatigue.
Was told by 3 drs that if I didn't get surgery I would end up dying because of aspiration in lungs, which are damaged from that.
I am doing great on this diet. When it came down to my health or changing eating habits it was a no brainer for me.
Bought an temperpedic ergo bed and sleep with head raised. Amazing difference. I do still take Nexium 2 x day. Sit up in bed 3 hrs piror to laying down completely.
I am one with no will power, but you can find it in yourself if the alternative isn't good.
I am still keeping my eye on Linx...but that would be last resort. As long as what I'm doing is working I'll stick to it.
