I have been doing some research on NERD( Non erosive reflux disease) and I think this is what I have. I have had 2 endoscopies one when i was 23 and another recently at 29. Both showed mild non erosive inflmmation of the esophagus. My symptoms are definetly not mild. I have learned that people with this kind of reflux often have symptoms despite treatment and it is very frustrating for both the doctors and the patients. Diet has been the best reducer of symptoms as well as chewing non mint gum and stress management (speciafically deep breathing). For those of you who are getting endoscopy results like this, or even normal, you may want to research this. Apparently people with NERD are less reponsive to PPI treatment also (which I am trying to ween off of as I have been on it for 7 years and I have issues still ). At least there is a name to what I have been experiencing. I am going to a new GI doctor next week so we will see what he says. I still have to go through the other tests but I am waiting til after my wedding which is this month.
