Anyone visit naturopathic doctors

Hi - there is doctor Kirti Kalidas in Orlando who is a MD and naturopathic doctor. My insurance does not cover him since he's out of network, but i heard he is a pretty good in diagnosis. Except he is expensive like first visit is $500.


I was wondering if anyone here visits naturopathic doctors and what type of test do they initially give to help in their determination. I heard Kirti Kalidas does some test, I was wondering if I can get them done from my PCP.

I actually see and keep in contact with a ND.
The test can vary depending on how much your ND knows.
My Naturopathic uses outside labs. Some of the tests are similar to what Mds do.

Mine did not charge anything close to that. She charged me 140 the 1st time for a good 2 hours. The follow ups were like 80 bucks for like about an hour.

She was able to work with me because I am a student and don't have much income.

I say look for another one. I think a first consultation will range from 150-300.
Anything above is too much I think. The 1st meeting is about 1:30-2hrs.

The doctor I mentioned is a MD and ND , hence I guess his high fees. I have a EPO network and am waiting for the new year to switch to PPO to be able to get some reimbursement if I visit this doctor.

Basically, what I would like to know is what ND prescribe.

Basically, I went in with stomach pain last August, got prescribed PPI. I decided to wean myself off PPI and after a month completely off PPI I had severe heartburn, never had it in my life before, but had it for two days straight, zantac did not help at all, i was awake most night. Went to two GI, they said go on PPI again. Since April, I have been on Achiphex 2 X 20mg. I am going to start taking it daily instead for a month and then try again. I've always wanted to go to a ND, I especially want to go to the one i listed as he's a MD as well, so he knows both sides of the story, but is too expensive at this time.

But my question what do ND prescribe? I keep reading they give probiotics or digestive enzymes, are those the same thing? Is there a product I can buy from a store that they prescribe to see if that helps me wean off PPI.
