I have been on protonix for more then 3 years, and I got off it back in march. I find myself now eating a lot less my appetite is pretty bad and I have lost a good 15 pounds. Granted I have been having trouble with my nissen wrap and the remergence of heartburn which has been pretty diffficult to deal with. However, now im starting to fear something like gastroparesis since I seem to keep gradually loosing weight. I don't throw up at all, but lots of weight loss. I remember the protonix did make me hungry when I took it, could getting off a PPI cause these kind of effects?

Rebound effects from stopping your ppi in March would largely have worn off by now. Perhaps it's just an effect of the surgery - from what people say it seems 2 months in is still early in terms of full recovery.

Have you asked your consultant about the appetite loss? Maybe you need Motilium or something similar for a bit?? I'm sure the wrapped members will have some good advice for you.

The wrap was done 4 years ago, but it started not working right in december

I was concerned that i developed a possible depedency on this crap, stomach is always upset also.
