Drug instant savings cards?

Has anyone heard of drug savings cards? My doctor gave me samples of Dexilant and it actually seems to be helping. I have not called my insurance company yet but I looked it up online and I do not think it is covered by my insurance. My sister in law suggested I go to the Dexilant website and fill out a savings card. She said you can use the card to cover the medicine. So I did fill out for one and it said I could present it at my pharmacy with prescription and it should be no more than 20 dollars. Has anyone done this? It sounds great but I am skeptical.

Erica, I can't speak to ths personally as I opted out of Dexilant after the samples due to the cost (it didn't do anymore for my throat than the others). I did see people talk about using the site coupon on the internet and it worked for them. I guess you can go to the pharmacy and have them run the RX with your ins and with the coupon and judge which is better ( I don't think you can use both, but I may be wrong about that).

My understanding is that your ability to use the saving card along with your insurance depends on your copay. If you have a copy under a certain amount, you can't use both. Multiple drug companies offer these savings cards. AstraZeneca offers a savings card for Nexium.

These copay cards that you get from the manufacturer's website are usually only good if you have prescription drug coverage- they help to reduce your co-pays.

Prescription drug cards are only for people that have no insurance or if a particular drug isn't covered by insurance- so this may be a better option for you. There are many websites that offer free discount drug cards. I have a card that I get from Medicationcoupons.com. Over the past few years, their prscription drug card and their medication coupons have saved me a lot of money. I hope this helps. :-)

Yes I have one that I used for my aciphex. It is exactly that you get a discount, which you can use up to 12 times. Mine was going to be $100 with my insurance and with the card it was $45 still a little pricey and it did say I wouldn't be more than $20, but it saved me some money :-)
Can I ask what the dexilant helped with did it help with your sore throat at all or your chest pains?

If you have no insurance some drug companies will give you free prescriptions or great discounts on your co-pay.

RXRelief has a discount card you can use if you have no insurance.
