I seen that you take gaviscon advance (UK), and would like to ask you some questions. I just bought some out of desperation for relief of lpr symptoms.

Where did you buy yours? I ordered mine from chemistdirect. I found it odd my bottle didn't have a seal on it. Not sure if thats a UK thing or not, we seal meds in the USA. After you take it, do you eat or drink anything inside of the 4 hr window of the raft? If so, do you think the raft reforms after something passes through, or is it ruined? It seems to help but I've only took it a couple times in 3 days. I'm hoping to replace the ppi's and h2's with it and carafate but I have to take my time coming off them.

I bought the cheapest one through Amazon, it was OneClickPharmacy.

I don't remember if it had a seal or not actually. I would refrain from eating after using it.

There is a raft in place I guess, but it's not like an impenetrable barrier, just something to try to block some of the reflux. I only took this stuff while on PPIs and apparently it reacts with stomach acid to create the barrier, so I'm thinking I was not getting the full effect. For me, it decreased the sour taste immediately after eating but I still tasted acid in my throat when using it.

I haven't ordered another bottle and I haven't used this stuff in a week. It does make some difference but for me it's not enough to want to use everytime and order a $16 bottle every week.

Just looked at my bottle, and it did have a seal. A red band that is now loose under the white cap. Apparently when I opened it, the white cap and red band separated, and that was the seal.

Thanks, and I had seen mine had a red band also. Maybe I didn't notice it was sealed when I opened it.

This product, sold in the United Kingdom, is only available through online pharmacies. I am guessing you ordered it from Amazon UK as Amazon USA does not carry it. :-)

Yes I know it comes from UK, but you can go to Amazon.com, search for Gaviscon Ultra and buy it from there, from Oneclickpharmacy which is in the UK. Just to avoid any confusion, it is not necessary to go to Amazon UK to find it.
