Kitt, I have a vitamin D deficency myself. I take 50,000 IU twice a week. I got down to an 8 last year. It's finally normal for me.
I know getting it up will help you feel so much better.

Hi all-

Stopping by to say hello while I am at the library.
The daughter is doing great with softball. We did go for a college visit and they offered her everything except housing. She is in Kansas City playing Nationals right now. I couldn't make the trip, but mom went with.

We got the insurance thing squared away. We applied for the state medical card and are eligible. Our regular PCP and my GI doc, thoracic doc are on the plan, so that's good news.
I do have full medical benefits through VA as well. I am going to go ahead with the spinal chord stimulator, but don't have a surgery date yet. I have my preop testing on August 7th.

Last weekend was my last weekend coaching my daughter. Bummed about that, but she is going to a great 18u team that none of the coaches have kids on the team. I think it will be very good for her to get out from under me and I get a chance to sit back and watch for a change. Alot less stress too.
She almost went to this team the last 2 years, but decided to stay with the Sluggers because we originally intended to move the whole team up to 18u next season, but the 6 16y/o players wanted to play another year at 16u. So 4 of our girls had to find new teams. 3 of the 4 are for sure going to the same team(same team as Jess) which is a good thing.

These 100+ degree days are brutal. Haven't had to mow in almost 2 months now. The corn is shot and the beans aren't looking very good. Today we got a little relief, only supposed to be in the low 90's. We finally got some rain the last 2 nights. First measurable rain we have had in almost 2 months.

Happy to hear you're all set up with insurance.  That's a big load off your shoulders.  You'll love watching your daughter play with out the stress of coaching.  It'll be fun, fun, fun!  Glad she is continuing to have good college visits.

I hope you get your health back on track and can get rid of that dang pain!

Hi MMM!  Hope things are looking up!  Hope you get that scope out of the way and can relax and enjoy your summer.  My husband is having his colonoscopy on Wednesday, so that'll be fun, don't you think?  He's got to eat no fiber for 4 days, and do the lovely clean-out.  I get to watch what I'll be facing in another year and a half.  Oh well!

Bill, Glad to read you are OK on insurance now.  Joy,  you need a break from all the "news" you get but it sounds like you know a lot about Lupus which helps when new problems pop up.  Thinking of you.

MMM, I am scheduled for the same test plus others so I want to let all of you know that I will be MIA for awhile trying to find the source of abdominal pain not associated with GERD. Tuesday having pelvic ultrasound.  Also will be seeing a acupunturist so please forgive me for not being available online.

Denise - tell your hubby good luck and hope his results are all normal.

Don't worry...we'll do our best to keep things going here.  Who should we go to if we something on a post that needs removing? 

Good luck with your tests.  My hubby has had abdominal pain for quite a long time...he had some testing 5 years ago, including a CT scan, and still hasn't figured it out.  It wakes him up out of a sound sleep sometimes. It seems to hurt the most when he's lying down...once he's up and around it's not a problem.

Yay!   Glad to hear that's over.  I know how you dreaded it.  It sounds as if it all went off without a hitch.  Good luck with the results, and don't forget those symptoms!  Have a good long talk about them.

Hi Jonathan,

Glad to hear that you found out the cause of your reflux.  I've heard that before...that bowels that don't move regularly can slow everything up and create reflux that would otherwise not occur.

Have you thought of taking a fiber supplement like Metamucil?  It's not a laxative, but rather provides more fiber, so your bowels move more regularly.  That way things wouldn't be held up at the stomach, and there's less chance of related reflux.
