How long does it take?

How long does it usually take on carafate to feel better with esophagitis? I hear it takes it's own time- but it's been about a month with Food being limited to very smooth baby food and pain with even the slightest texture. I'm new here ( and like many, i'm sure, extremely sad and frustrated...)

Hi Mommyx3,it takes quite a while to recover from esophagitis,in my own case 3 months to feel anyway near normal,but theres different grades of esophagitis so it would depend on that.Very uncomfortable condition esophagitis but you will recover ok once your on treatment.Hope you feel better soon! I hade Grade One esophagitis, the mildest kind, and it took me sveral months on Dexliant to recover. My throat still feels tight, but I no longer feel pain in my lower esophagus when swallowing. I also had my esophagus dilated while I had the esophagitis, and I'm sure that did not help.
