I had my TIF procedure done 8 weeks ago in Northwest Indiana and followed the diet as told, I did lose 28 Lbs and actually right where I should be in weight now. Just curious, I played a round of golf today (first time since TIF procedure) and feeling some chest pain-does anyone know how long you need to wait to golf after the procedure? I guess I should have called and ask my Doctor first but just kind of assumed if I can eat and drink pretty much everything I should be able to golf to-now not so sure:-(

P.S. I have had No heartburn since TIF, no side effects, no issues and I thank the good Lord everyday.

I had my TIF in April of 2011. I did not lift over 5 pounds for 5 weeks but I don't remember any other physical restrictions. Good to hear that your TIF is working. I also thank to good Lord for the relief.

Good to hear Tandem Rider, So far I do love the TIF, I have read some other posts with some bad reviews, I am walking a mile or two here and there and trying to keep my weight off-my doctor did stress to me NOT to over eat because it could result in the stretching out the stapled area and I would be back to where i started. No Nexium and other ppi's for over 6 weeks and NO heartburn-not once! can't be happier.

Just shows how different every doctor is.  When my doctor discharged me after my TIFF procedure, he told me not to lift more than 25 lbs (which seems absurd and against everything I've ever read).  So  wasn't too concerned when I had to lift my 15 lb cat many many times after my surgery.  Maybe that's why my surgery was NOT successful - my surgery was in March 2012 and at first I thought my reflux was better but has gradually gotten worse and worse.  The gas, belching, hard hiccupping is horrible and starts with the first thing I eat in the morning and all day.  I have to sit up to sleep or it feels like whatever I've eaten sits is my chest. It's really awful and I am very discouraged.  I am looking for another doctor to tell me what went wrong.

Hello everyone ,
i am new to this side of healing well just had my TIF June 13 this year .I have just started my second week of recovery.
My doctor gave me a pamphlet on TIF Procedure it have patient instructions ( Before and After your TIF Procedure), If you able to get a copy of it will give you some very good good information about the diet and recovery time ..

Did you have a hernia and acid reflux? How old are you? Is it fixed now?
