I am sorry I didn't see your posts to my journey thread until today. I wanted to respond and hope yuo do see this.
Non- The GI only tore my esophagus and what had to be done to re[air my esophagus and let me keep my esophagus was what tore my nissen apart. He did see me at the ER the evening of my EGD. He was constantly apologizing the couple hours I was there. He went with me to every xray, ct scan, and barium swallow I had at the ER. When they loaded me into the ambulance he apologized once again as they closed the doors.
I know he didn't mean to do it and actually didn't know it happened at the time. I also felt as I always had after an EGD until about
45 minutes after getting home. I got home from the EGD about
11:30am and by 2:30pm I was in incredible pain.
Cmac3721- How are things going for you now? I went to Loyola Medical Center in Chicago for my first redo and the surgeon there specializes in swallowing issues and nissen redoes. I know the Cleveland Clinic is supposed to be very good with this sort of thing and also one of the UCLA teaching hospitals too.
I hope you have gotten other opinions about
what is going on. I believe the teaching hospitals at most good Universities are more up to date with the latest ideas on this and are good choices.
Take care,
Bill
