I had a Nissen done almost 2 years ago for symptoms that my Dr. convinced me were due to GERD. I had an upper GI series done at the time that showed GERD. Now these same symptoms have returned (excessive burping, gnawing feeling in stomach, nausea with eating, fumes taste in my mouth, constant throat clearing, blurred vision). All these things went away after the surgery and I thought it must have come undone but the Upper GI Series and Barium Swallow showed everything is good. Does anyone know why this could be... could it still be GERD or something else? Dr. is sending me for an abdominal scan now to check out some other things.

I have the same issue. I just had another barium swallow that was normal even though it felt like the barium was sitting in my throat. I have a nerve disorder also so my dr is thinking it could be related to that. Sorry I couldn't be much help but you're not alone!

I cannot tell you what is going on but I believe your Dr. has ordered the right test. It certainly seems like something is going on so do continue to advocate for yourself and it never hurts to get a second opinion.
